Ioana Barbu

A 23 years old Sagittarius born in Timisoara on the 20th of December, Ioana graduated UNATC, acting section, class of Professor Dr. Gelu Colceag.

Her professional experience includes appearances in the theatre but also in the film area. In 2004 she received the award for best female performance at the Student Film Festival CinemaIubit for her starring role in “Calatorul / The Traveler”, directed by Florin Filipescu.

Also she can be seen in “Gunpowder, Treason Plot” (2003) directed by Gillies McKennon, “The Black Sea” (2004), a short film directed by Andrew Reuland, “Heather” (2004) directed by Chris Sewell and “Quick Fresh” (2005) directed by George Dogaru.

As for the theatre area she became Maria for the play “Stelele in lumina diminetii / Stars in the morning light” by Alexandr Galin, presented at the Casandra Studio and Lady Anne in “Richard III”. Also, Ioana colaborated with the Bulandra Theatre for the play “Tatal / The Father” (A.Strinberg) directed by Catalina Buzoianu.
