Tudor Chirila was born on the 28th of May 1974 in Bucharest. In 1996 he graduated the Academy of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. He is one of the most important actors of his generation.
Tudor’s theatrical career includes in 2004 the role of Mr. Charles in the Romanian musical "Kiritza of Birzoieni" by Vasile Alecsandri, direction and adaptation by Iarina Demian. In 2003 he was Malvolio in "The Twelfth Night" by William Shakespeare, directed by Gelu Colceag and in 2002, Stanley in "Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon, directed by Iarina Demian.
In 2004 Tudor was awarded a UNITER (Romania's most important theatre award) for “Best actor in a supporting role" for Malvolio in "The Twelfth Night".
He’s acting skills can be seen in the film “Weekend millionaires” (2003) where Tudor played Godzi. In 2001 he appeared as a negative character in one of the episodes of the Austrian series "Komissar Rex" and in 1999 he was Valentin, one of the five leading parts, in "Nordrand"(Austria-Germany-Switzerland), film selected for the Venice Film Festival.
At the same time Tudor Chirila is the lider and vocal of one of the most beloved Romanian rock bands, Vama Veche. Together with his band mates he could be considered the initiator of the musical in Romania.
With charisma and nonconformist, clever and funny, dividing his life between theatre, music and motion picture, always preoccupied by various forms of expression and refusing the patterns, Tudor Chirila could be considered a cultural personality, an opinion leader of his generation.
